Now this is inspirational training Check out this link, now this is inspirational training. I think I'm going to incorporate some kung fu training with weights after seeing this.

Hello Pak Sau,
Isn’t the blond guy on the treadmill the “villain” from the Jackie Chan movie “Rush Hour”?
While I really endorse hard training, I found this a bit over the top.
I don’t mean to offend but it looks staged and pretentious to me.
There are spectacular kung fu people like these guys:

And then there are spectacularly bad people like these guys:

Hello MrE2Me,
I liked the posts, I will agree with that my original post regarding the video was a little on the "Hollywood" side, but it did have some good ideas. I have started chain punching with 10lb and 5lb wieghts, and after the first session let me tell you that I already noticed a lot of improvements. You must however after doing a set of 50 with weights do a set right after of 50 to 100 punches without the weights to ensure form and technique are not lost.
I almost lost control of my bodily functions after seeing your post on the not so efficient martial artists. I thought the nunchuck guy could have been the most skilled one on the video, just unlucky, yet at the same time he was the funniest one on the video, especially when he tries to get up and keep going on to his routine. Very hilarious.
I like the kettle bell idea which could be substituted with dumbells. I have also tried my forms with dumbells in hand and that makes for an awesome workout. My only tip is too use a weight that it is comfortable because you don't want to lose technique in the form to over compensate for using the weight. Even if 5lbs seems light at the beginning of the form, by the end of the form forearms, chest, shoulds, biceps and triceps will be burning at first. And I would always recommend to a set without weights right after the set with weights.
Thanks.

Hello Pak Sau,
I use weights in my training.
But I do not use momentum when I train them (anymore).
It is just too easy for me to hurt myself (again).
I only light weights and they can provide a great burn!
The biggest problem I have ever found is using ankle weights.
The back problems I suffer from were exacerbated by ankle weights.
Of this I’m sure (now).
But you couldn’t have told me this when I was young.
Another other problem I have is putting my shoulder into my movement.
Instead of using proper form, I get all macho and then I damage my rotator cuff.
And then I can’t train until it heals.
So for me, the rule is simple when it comes to weights.
Slow, controlled and focused, or forget it!
