Here is part of an e-mail I sent Grasshopper regarding my background. I know thought of ya might be interested: "Hello Grasshopper. I may have been a bit short in my post. I'm not reluctant to discuss my past. It's been on here before, I didn't feel the need to rehash. You seem like an upfront guy. I will share a bit w/ya. First yes , those are my real initials. I like my hint of anonymity, if nothing else just to make some people crazy and not make it easy for the zealots. Also as I feel that tkf has not been forthcoming in presenting facts, why should I ? I sarted training @ tkf in Wpg. I think in 1988. I hade done a little kickboxing prior. I was there 2 years before they approached me to be an instructor. I taught for a year and was let go because "head office" felt my phone call presentation wasn't up to snuff. I did ask if I could still train, as shortly after that I moved to Calgary for a year. I trained there for a while( more than 6 mos less than a year), when they asked me to teach again. I declined. I was made to feel uncomfortable and left tkf for good. At this point the Wpg Chief left to train Kenpo Karate. I ended up back in Wpg. and started training Kenpo. After awhile I was teaching there too. I taught Kenpo in Wpg. for maybe 2 years. At this point the Studio was floundering under management (too many chiefs syndrome). During my time training Kenpo in Wpg. I ended up working in Edmonton for an extended period (considered staying too). At this point I trained w/ Richard Shergold. I trained directly w/ him approx. 6 months. The head guy in Wpg. was approached by G.M. Larry Tatum to run one of his schools in California. I was invited about a year later as L.T. had an opening for an instructor. I taught @ Larry Tatum's in Pasadena for 3 years when we parted ways. Since that time I have trained directly with G.M. Frank Trejo, G.M. David German and Larry Kongaika(Ed jr's. brother in law). I also managed to do a year @ the Gracies (Rorion & Royce's) school when I was teaching @ L.T.'s The last 4 years or so have been slow training for me as I have been establishing a business, Have a family, yada, yada. I have picked up a couple of students recently, I have some facilities @ the house. Right now I am not really affiliated w/ any organization but I am looking @ some possibilities. I will be taking my stepson to the Gracies in the fall and will do some remedial work." Alas, I am not the fabled Jim Kiddoo. There ya go. Have at it. I will answer questions regarding this post on this forum only. J.K.

Did you ever come down to Seattle to teach? I think 88 was about the time I was taking lessons at TKF in Seattle on HWY 99, North Seattle. I also worked out at the Bellevue studio briefly before it was closed.

Sorry, Never been to Seattle. J.K.
