Forum name change I think the forum should be called Moh Kempo Forum rather than Temple Kung fu Forum. It's kind of morphed past Temple Kung fu and, to be honest, the style should stand on it's own rather than be associated with the studio. Just a thought.

Hello DaveS,
You posted about changing the forum name to “The Moh Kempo Forum”.
I just finished corresponding with Grasshopper.
And he agrees with both you and I.
So when he has time from work, he is going to change the name:
From “Temple Kung Form” to “The Moh Kempo Forum”

Done,
Funny, I had thought about doing that months ago and in fact thought I did...
Thanks for the prodding.
Unfortunately I don't think I can change the URL adress without having potentialy disasterous results?!

Good day everyone,
I mentioned before that I was going to have a single post, but I just wanted to support your name change. It is definitely more accurate and does represent a more exacting view of this forum and where it has gone.
Remember to stop by for a coffee when you’re in the neighborhood our door is always open..

To all,
Templekungforum, you posted,
“Funny, I had thought about doing that months ago and in fact thought I did...”
I think that you, Sifu Shawn and I were talking about changing the name.
Then we realized that we have three different ways of spelling Mo, Moo, Moh.
And a couple of other things happened and we got distracted.
Since that time I have checked around.
We aren’t the only Martial art to have this problem.
Tai Chi is also spelled differently.
I am aware that is likely because it is in a different language.
But then gung fu and kung fu mean the same and they are also spelled differently.
Also there is the matter of “Te” and “Karate”.
Originally, “Te” was the name.
Then Funakoshi sensei changed the name to “Karate”.
And to make matters even more convoluted.
He changed the meaning of the kanji from “China Hand” to “Empty Hand”.
It is my understanding that there was a great deal of unhappiness over this.
We could go back even further still.
"Shinmen Musashi" changed the kanji depicting his name to mean “Myamoto Musashi”.
But that would have been in a time when westerners spoke differently too.
For example;“I am disinclined to acquiesce to your request”, (from Pirates of the Caribbean).
I am happy to go with this name changed forum.
