Hello DaveS,
It’s been a while.
Good to hear from you.
I do believe you are right about this one.

The other clip is also remarkable.
For a big man that guy is very fast and balanced.

RE Clips Interesting clips for sure.
Here's another one, this time from Uechi Ryu karate.
http://fileserver.uechi-ryu.com/videos/maloney_sanseiru.wmv
This style of karate has the most traditional Chinese kung fu flavour I've come across and is very different from the other versions I've seen such as GoJu Ryu, etc. Please don't take the karate comparison in any negative way, it is simply an observation based on my studies in kung fu (outside of anything that I was taught at TKF).
Here's a link to view more clips.

For those of you in the Edmonton area you may be to know it is local (I don't kow the area well so forgive if it's a 2-4 hour drive :) )
Look up Wilson's Karate.
Hello Yen Hui,
I have looked at the vids you posted.
The ones from Malaysia were very powerful.
I found the impact drills with the blade especially intense.
I also saw that there were no older martial artists present in any of them.
I couldn’t watch them jump off the buildings.
I found it quite disturbing and I wondered about long term effects of such training.
Actually, I wondered about the long term effects of all that training.
I know it is important to be able to take a strike.
I practice that too.
But my concern was long term injuries.
That these people are brave and strong and honorable is unquestioned.
But how long are they able to train for?
About the other vids:
I have seen the guy stand on his finger before.
It is still ever bit as impressive today.
I found the other vids were advertisements.
That guy running up a wall looked like the dancers in a Madonna video.
(Literally, he did things similar to what they did in “Hung Up”.)
There is no disrespect intended and I was impressed with these advertisements.
But I was more impressed with the impact training in the Malaysian vids.
That is quite a collection.

To all,
I saw a show on T.V. about how fight scenes were made for films.
One guy commented that for every 10 seconds of film, there is 3 hours of practice.
Here is a film of some outtakes on one such project.

To all,
Here is an aikido drill of multiple attackers on a single defender.

(Is it just me or do these attackers not seem to represent much of a threat?)
