Any TKF friends want to reconnect? What *I* miss most from my time at the Toronto studio was the sociality (though some people probably thought I was pretty anti-social).
There are a number of people I haven't seen since leaving there just over a year ago - would love to catch up with some people if anyone's interested.

Any Current KFFL Calgary students?
MrE2Me2- 12-19-2006
To all,
I have watched this topic from the beginning of my stay here.
Outside of the approximately 280 views, no one comes here.
Now I’m not sure if this because no one is interested or if they’re just too busy.
I tend to think it’s mostly because we’re not interested.
I’m very interested in posting here and reading the posts of others.
But I don’t have much desire to reach out and reconnect with others from the old days.
I figure that if someone wants to talk with me, they’ll meet me in person.
Also, if someone from my past wanted to be around me, they’d have been there.
I’m posting this to see what, if any, response I get.
I’m not baiting anyone, I merely curious as to whether others here feel the same way.

Hi everyone,
I wanted to thank everyone for the amount of usefull information regarding this forum. I had been searching for information on the history of the Kung Fu school I used to attend.
I started at Energy Lake in Mississauga under the instruction of J. Costa in 1993. The school was renamed to Beyond Kung Fu in 1995 I beleive. I remained there until 2001, where shortly after that location was closed (I left to go to School in Ottawa, but had every intention on returning).
I am now in Kitchener where I am investigating taking lessons with Sifu Anton Skafar, who is a certified Shao-Lin Wahnam instructor under Master Wong Kiew Kit. (http://www.wongkk.com/general/instructors-list.html).
It was the seemingly rich history of the Shao-Lin Wahnam school that prompted me to search for more information regarding the lineage of Energy Lake.

Hello Denyuan,
Welcome to the forum!
You will find that there are several students and former students of the Energy Lake Studios.
I don’t know what you have read or know.
But here is a post by Yen Hi.

Hi MrE2Me2,
I have seen his website for the White Lotus System of Unarmed Combat. The website doesn't offer much information. I gather it is a type of MMA he has put together?
Beyond Kung Fu Studios still has 2 schools in the Toronto Area - Brampton and Missisauga specifically.
I will post some additional information I have in the history thread.

Hello Denyuan,
Thanks for the info about the schools in Ontario.
I didn't know about them.

Does any here know Darcy Maxwell?
North- 07-02-2007
If that is Mr. Maxwell from Edmonton I have trained with him/recieved lessons from him during my time with TKF.
He has an amazing amount of knowledge.
He spent 45 minutes showing me dozons if not hundreds of various wrist escapes and locks and at the end I mentioned how he hadn't shown the basic ones TKF teaches, which had made the whole lesson even neater. he asked to see the basic ones I was talking about then claimed they were cool and he had never seen them before. lol!
Mr. Maxwell was one of the very very few blue sash students at TKF. I learned a great deal from him and Mr. Basinet.
(If it's the same Mr. Maxwell)

That would be Darcy.
He and I were best friends in the early ninties.

He moved to the Vancouver area a few years ago, the last I heard (about a year ago) he was still there.

What you're doing and where My name is Mr. Ott. I used to teach at the TKF studios in Bellevue and Kent, WA; in addition to the studio in Portland, OR when one was there. TKF was my first exposure to the Art, and it built my foundation. That was years ago in the early 90's. Later I ran my own school in my hometown of Redding, CA called North Valley Kung Fu. I now am in Dallas, TX attending graduate school preparing to become a Christian minister. I still teach the Art in local churches, but won't charge for my classes. I would love to connect with any in Dallas who formerly trained with TKF. In all my years since TKF I've been exposed to many other Art's, and have developed the respect for them that was lacking from TKF. However, I never changed what I trained, but have continued training and teaching the Moh Temple system just as it was shown me and I taught at TKF in the northwest. I hope to hear from any I used to train with, or are in the north Texas area.
Bless you. :D
